DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sports car veteran Randy Pobst joined Acumen Motorsport to drive in the No. 55 ALM Performance GT3 Porsche in the upcoming 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 At Daytona.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Pobst is number two on the all-time pro wins list of active American road racing drivers, at more than 80. He has had factory contracts with Porsche (2001), Audi (03-04), Mazda (05-07), and now drives the factory-supported K-PAX Volvo in World Challenge GT, where he had three championships in four years, 2007-2010.
Pobst won the Daytona Rolex 24 in Porches in 2001 (second overall) and 2006. He was top-10 in the World Porsche Cup three years in a row, 2000-02. He has raced and won with Porsches on ALMS, GRAND-AM and World Challenge GT for years, starting in 1997 at Sebring. This year with Acumen Motorsport marks the 13th of the last 14 Rolex 24s in a Porsche for Pobst.
Randy joins veteran drivers Tony Kester, Frank Del Vecchio, Scott McKee and Doug Grunnet. Pobst's depth of experience driving Porsche will be invaluable in working with Team Manager Don Hoevel as Acumen Motorsport prepares the ALM Performance Porsche for this most grueling of endurance races - the 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona.
